Company Meets Stringent International Quality Standards

SUNNYVALE, CA (September 1, 2006) - Actiontec Electronics announced today that it has achieved TL9000 certification for the design, distribution, support and servicing of the DSL gateways that it sells to major service providers such as Qwest and Verizon. The certification ensures that Actiontec adheres to stringent telecom industry standards governing product quality, reliability, and procedures for continuous business improvement and performance measurement.

The company was certified under both the TL 9000 H,S,V (hardware, software and services) R3.0/R3.5 standard and the well-known ISO 9001:2000 international quality standard on which TL9000 is based.

The TL9000 standard was developed by the Quality Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunications (QuEST) forum, a global partnership of over 140 telecom suppliers and service providers. It defines quality system requirements for the design, development, production, delivery, installation and maintenance of telecom products and services, provides a measurement system that allows companies to track performance and improve results, and helps service providers assure consistent quality from their suppliers.

“This certification validates our commitment to quality at every level of our organization and positions us to expand our already substantial footprint as a supplier of broadband hardware to the telecommunications industry,” said Minsiu Huang, Actiontec Vice President of Operations. “Many service providers today are requiring that their equipment vendors be TL9000-certified, and now we can do business with any provider in that category.”

The list of providers requiring TL9000 certification from their suppliers includes Verizon, which announced in June that it is using a custom-built Actiontec router to deliver its FiOS broadband and video services over Verizon’s fiber-to-the-premises network. Customers who purchase Verizon’s FiOS Internet Service products, as well as those who order FiOS TV, now automatically receive the Actiontec broadband home router as part of the installation.

Actiontec retained the services of Clydesdale International Management Consulting, a specialist in ISO-based quality management systems, to assist in the TL9000 certification project. Actiontec’s quality processes and methodologies were audited by TUV Rheinland of North America, a global provider of independent testing and assessment services.
