Mobistar becomes Official Provider for Mons 2015

On the eve of the Mons 2015 opening ceremony, Mobistar enters a partnership as an official provider to the Foundation. Mobistar benefits from the resulting visibility and offers Mons 2015 its technical resources and know-how for the duration of the year.

In 2015, the city of Mons is “European Capital of Culture” and takes as its main theme the meeting of culture and new technologies under the slogan “Mons, where technology meets culture”.

Keen to support the city in its ambitious programme and to put its know-how at the service of Mons 2015, Mobistar sought to become an official partner of the Foundation Mons 2015.

Under this arrangement, Mobistar will benefit from the “OFFICIAL PROVIDER” status and from visibility in the various communication media and during key events throughout the year.

Mobistar puts its technical resources and know-how at the service of Mons 2015 in a number of ways:

• The Mobistar mobile network capacity will be increased during 3 major events: the opening ceremony, the Doudou (Ducasse de Mons) festival and the closing ceremony;
• A study will be carried out to find ways of strengthening the network of the 6 principal museums which are contributing to the programming of Mons 2015, and
• A test will take place during the first half of the year, in collaboration with Futurocité and IBM, with the aim of helping the city to manage the flow of visitors.
