TestAmerica Presents at the International Conference on Remediation and Management of Contaminated Sediments

Two technical experts from TestAmerica, Ms. Patricia McIsaac and Mr. Larry Matko, both have poster presentations scheduled for the Eighth International Conference on Remediation and Management of Contaminated Sediments. The conference will be held January 12-15, 2015 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The conference is organized and presented by Battelle and sponsors, including public and private sector organizations active in environmental assessment, remediation, and management.

The title of Ms. McIsaac’s presentation is “Various Elutriate Tests and Their Application to Dredged Material Management Projects” and provides details on elutriate methods, variant methods, their intended uses and applicability for method selection.

The title of Mr. Matko’s presentation is “Use of a Commercially Available Polyethylene Bag as an Absorptive Medium for Semi-Volatile PAH Analyses” and provides an overview of the absorptive capabilities of polyethylene bags with data performed using current SW-846 methodologies.

Both Ms. McIsaac and Mr. Matko are recognized experts in their respective fields and part of the Industry-leading “Ask the Expert” program at TestAmerica. Patricia McIsaac has 33 years of experience in environmental testing services. For the past 14 years, she has provided business and technical leadership for TestAmerica’s Dredged Material, Sediment and Tissue Laboratories. In her current role as a TestAmerica Industry Marketing Manager, she serves as an expert in priority industry verticals to help determine and guide company priorities and strategy. Larry Matko has more than 24 years of experience in the environmental testing industry, and is currently the Technical Director at TestAmerica in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Matko’s technical knowledge and analytical expertise allowed him to develop and implement the Leaching Environmental Assessment Framework (LEAF) methods. Methods 1313, 1314, 1315, and 1316 are new methods in SW-846 by the U.S. EPA.
