Daniel explains how to be a better actor instantly without killing yourself with “The Method”. Method acting has traditionally been associated with the recall of past experiences and emotions as the key to success. Jordano explains how much of this “past” orientation is actually a hindrance to the actor and how psychological research proves that people are naturally “future oriented”
His system, called LIFE ACTING, is meant to free the performer from distracting thoughts and get him focused on the here and now, and the character’s immediate desires.
The book begins with an explanation of the history of acting styles and how the philosophies of the times influenced them. Especially interesting is how the purveyors of current acting techniques were heavily influenced by Sigmund Freud in the past century.
In succeeding chapters, Jordano lays out his philosophy based on recent psychological research.
