Veritas Arts Announces Free Amazon Book Giveaway: “The Best Book on Acting“ By Daniel Jordano – Dec. 3rd to 7th
Veritas Arts International wishes all a happy holidays by making the highly reviewed, "The Best Book On Acting", available for free download on Amazon, December 3rd to December 7th.
“It’s a very simple, behavior-based approach that can be as effective with a toddler as it can be with a veteran wanting to go as deep as possible. It essentially sees man as an aspirational creature with LIFE as his consuming goal"
Author Daniel Jordano is happy to provide his book, The Best Book On Acting, available for Free Download Dec. 3 to 7th,
Daniel explains how to be a better actor instantly without killing yourself with “The Method”. Method acting has traditionally been associated with the recall of past experiences and emotions as the key to success. Jordano explains how much of this “past” orientation is actually a hindrance to the actor and how psychological research proves that people are naturally “future oriented”
His system, called LIFE ACTING, is meant to free the performer from distracting thoughts and get him focused on the here and now, and the character’s immediate desires.
The book begins with an explanation of the history of acting styles and how the philosophies of the times influenced them. Especially interesting is how the purveyors of current acting techniques were heavily influenced by Sigmund Freud in the past century.
In succeeding chapters, Jordano lays out his philosophy based on recent psychological research.
“This short book is just meant to be a primer”, says Jordano, “but it’s a very important foundation that will lead to sharper more focused and more powerful acting”
Jordano discusses the difference between ACTING and HOMEWORK, and how the lack of distinction has made for sloppy and distracted acting.
Jordano believes you will become a better actor because:
- You won’t be scraping your psyche with an internal focus to present something that has nothing to do with the material.
- You won’t be overly focused on emotion, (often pushing and unrealistic) but on the intent of the character.
- You will be more focused, more colorful, more memorable and interesting because you know how to make crystal clear choices which lead to impacting the audience.
- You won’t be “in your head” in performance, trying to juggle the balls of technique, emotion and connection. You will be “doing”!
This book might reboot your whole way of building a character. It will be faster, more precise and more interesting. The questions for Homework can be broken down to such a basic level that a small child can use them and be effective.
“Daniel Jordano’s ideas, like those of the afore mentioned books, empower actors to perform at a level that can be referred to as ARTISTRY! I don’t understand why acting schools continue to force feed ”methods“ that confuse and distract aspiring actors from ”being in the moment"-- Cassidy Barnes review on Amazon.
