SSH Tectia and BMC Software’s CONTROL-M Provide Secure File Transfers among IBM Mainframe, UNIX and Windows Environments

BMC USERWORLD, SAN FRANCISCO – Aug. 29, 2006 – SSH Communications Security (HEX:SSH1V), a world-leading provider of enterprise security solutions and end-to-end communications security, and the original developer of the Secure Shell protocol, today announced that it will demonstrate seamless, secure file transfers among Multiple Virtual Storage (MVS), UNIX and Windows environments at BMC UserWorld 2006 by using SSH Tectia™ Server for IBM z/OS with BMC Software’s CONTROL-M® integrated scheduling system.

BMC CONTROL-M/CM for Advanced File Transfer (AFT) provides business processing, chaining and scheduling logic, and transforms the CONTROL-M job scheduling system into a file transfer scheduling engine. Adding SSH Tectia, an enterprise suite of security solutions based on the award-winning SSH Secure Shell, ensures that file transfers are made with the most robust encryption and authentication available.

The SSH Tectia solution together with BMC Control-M AFT is an enterprise-level combination capable of transferring files from any system or host to-and-from the IBM z/OS mainframe “native” MVS area using Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) for automatic data conversion. The joint solution will provide true secure end-to-end communications.

“The mainframe remains the preferred repository for corporate data and continues to contribute to the growth of UNIX and Windows, which means the data must be incorporated into heterogeneous platforms efficiently and seamlessly,” said George Adams, president and CEO of SSH Communications Security, Inc. “By leveraging the advanced, strong encryption of SSH Tectia with the file transfer management features of CONTROL-M, enterprises can perform reliable, secure and efficient batch file transfers throughout their IBM mainframe, UNIX and Windows environments to adjust to today’s economic demands and meet regulatory requirements.”

SSH is an authorized business partner in BMC Software’s MarketZone Partner Products Program that promotes the development, marketing and distribution of complementary partner products. In addition, SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS received the IBM ServerProven® certification in May 2006.

BMC UserWorld 2006 is the premier educational and user event covering all BMC solutions for customers and partners to learn how to further benefit from, gain exposure to, and extend their use of solutions in order to build a stronger BMC user community.
