CEB carries 4M passengers in Q3 2014

The Philippines’ leading carrier, Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), carried 4 million passengers in the 3rd quarter of 2014, posting a 16.8% increase compared to 3.4 million passengers flown in the same period last year.

The airline carried a total of 12.5 million passengers from January to September 2014, an increase of 14.8% year on year.

“The Cebu Pacific Air group is on track to meeting our target of serving 17 million passengers this year. CEB’s growth in Q3 2014, was driven by increased presence in key markets, sustained demand for air travel and industry capacity rationalization,” said Atty. Jorenz Tañada, CEB VP – Corporate Affairs.

CEB’s Q3 2014 total revenues increased by 32.4% year on year to P11.7 billion.  Passenger revenues grew by 34.2% to P8.9 billion. Ancillary revenues grew 27.9% to P2 billion driven by 9.5% increase in ancillary revenue per passenger and increased passenger traffic.

Cargo revenues also posted an increase of 26.1% as CEB carried 43 million of kilos of cargo, an increase of 31.6% for the same period last year.
