Avnet’s one-day Freescale K2 SpeedWay Design Workshop will provide microcontroller hardware and software engineers with complimentary training and hands-on product experience designing with Freescale’s K2 Kinetis solutions. The K2 solution portfolio includes second-generation Kinetis K series products, which build on the existing Kinetis portfolio of more than 900 devices and scales up to 2 MB Flash and 256 K SRAM, as well as the next generation of easy-to-use software development tools for Kinetis MCUs.

Attendees will be introduced to the latest software, development hardware, tools, libraries, operating systems and bootloader solutions needed to accelerate development of their next MCU design, including the complimentary Freescale Kinetis Design Studio, featuring robust editing, compiling and debugging for the Kinetis MCU portfolio. Also featured will be the Kinetis Software Development Kit (KSDK), an extensive suite of peripheral drivers, stacks, middleware and example applications designed to step up application development by providing pre-integrated software compatible with industry-leading Integrated Development Environments (IDE).

“Keeping pace with the rapid demand for complex, power-efficient embedded designs in emerging technology applications such as the Internet of Things is a challenge for even our biggest customers,” said Jim Beneke, vice president of global technical marketing for Avnet Electronics Marketing. “Resources like these SpeedWay Design Workshops provide the tools, training and support designers need to leverage state-of-the-art technologies, such as Freescale’s K2 portfolio, and streamline development of innovative, high-performance products.”
