WEBWIRE

Dr. Mark Bruce, Corporate Technical Director for TestAmerica, will provide an introduction to Incremental Sampling Methodology (ISM) at the Midwestern States Environmental Consultants Association (MSECA) Fall Seminar. The presentation will take place on October 29th in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dr. Bruce participated in the Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC) team that developed a national guidance document to improve the quality of site characterization and to minimize data variability. The ITRC ISM guidance document public release occurred in February 2012 and has been accompanied by quarterly Internet based training through 2015. The presentation for MSECA provides an overview of the ISM guidance, which is organized into sections on ISM principles, systematic planning, statistical ISM design, field implementation, laboratory sample processing, making decisions, regulatory concerns, case studies and stakeholder input.

Dr. Bruce was honored with an Industry Recognition Award by the ITRC for his outstanding contribution to the Incremental Sampling Methodology team. Dr. Bruce has more than 35 years of analytical chemistry experience and serves as resident technical expert for method development and modification. Recent analytical advancements led by Dr. Bruce involve metals speciation and incremental sampling methodology.
