Ingram Expands its Global Network with New Global Connect Relationship in Poland

Ingram and Azymut work together to enhance content distribution in Poland

FRANKFURT, GERMANY – WEBWIRE

Ingram Content Group Inc. is expanding its print-on-demand (POD) and distribution reach to Poland through a Lightning Source Inc. Global Connect alliance with Azymut, one of the largest media publishing and distribution groups in Poland.

“We are pleased to expand Ingram’s Global Connect programme to Poland, enabling us to immediately connect with local bookselling markets and deliver books quickly,” said David Taylor, Senior Vice President of Content Acquisition, Ingram Content Group. “By adding Poland to our POD network, we are expanding our speed and reach around the world, helping publishers and retailers grow sales and revenue while quickly meeting demand.”

Ingram’s Global Connect program grows the reach of physical content for publishers beyond Ingram’s current channels to new markets through a network of book manufacturers and distributors with established local retail relationships. Publishers that work with Ingram gain access to new sales channels with zero risk and without the worry of inventory in market, import and customs issues, and shipping and warehousing costs.

“There is strong demand for English language books in Poland. Through our Global Connect relationship with Ingram, we can now offer a substantial range of content with near-immediate availability to meet the needs of our bookselling customers,” said Jerzy Majewski, CEO of Azymut. “Today’s marketplace is no longer bound by national borders or languages, and we are pleased that through Global Connect, books that are in demand will reach readers.”

Ingram’s relationship with Azymut gives publishers access to high-quality, POD book manufacturing, as well as access to Azymut’s established relationships with more than 2,700 retail points of sale in Poland, including online, chain and independent booksellers and distributors.

Michal Wachnicki, Head of Retail Sales for PWN Bookstores, the largest bookseller of scientific, technical and medical titles in Poland commented, “Through Azymut’s work with Ingram, we now have quick and easy access to a wide range of English language books for our customers to purchase, both online and in our bookshops. Typically it took six to eight weeks for English language books to reach our customers. Now, with Azymut’s Global Connect relationship with Ingram, it will take no more than 72 hours. We couldn’t be more pleased.”

Books printed at Ingram Global Connect locations adhere to the same specifications and quality standards in place at Ingram Lightning Source facilities worldwide. Ingram maintains file integrity and security as well as reporting and payment remittance to publishers.

Ingram’s new Global Connect location in Poland joins other locations in Russia, Germany and Brazil.
