Whistleblowers Blog Series: The False Claims Act Works
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has commenced a well-financed and aggressive lobbying campaign to undermine America’s most effective whistleblower law, the False Claims Act.
To justify its anti-whistleblower campaign the Chamber published a report entitled, “Fixing the False Claims Act: the Case For Compliance-Focused Reforms,” Stephen M. Kohn, KKC partner and pro bono Executive Director of the National Whistleblower Center, has put together a 25 part blog series fully rebutting the Chamber’s arguments. The purpose of this series is to combat the Chamber’s misinformation, and explain why the False Claims Act must be protected.
Today the Whistleblowers Blog published the first installment of this series, entitled “The False Claims Act Works.” A new installment will be published each Thursday. Whistleblowers and their supporters should follow this series and share it with friends.
Additionally, an Action Alert has been issued by the National Whistleblower Center for members of the public to inform their representatives that the False Claims Act should not be “reformed” as proposed by the Chamber.
