Registration Opens for Microchip’s Annual Greater China MASTERs Conferences
Premiere Technical Training Events for Embedded-control Engineers to be Held in Beijing, Shanghai, Kaohsiung and Taipei; Classes Available for All Experience Levels, From Beginner to Expert
[NASDAQ: MCHP] — Microchip Technology Inc., a leading provider of microcontroller, mixed-signal, analog and Flash-IP solutions, is now accepting registrations for its annual Greater China MASTERs Conferences. The first conference will take place on 5-7 November in Beijing, followed by Taipei on 12-13 November and Shanghai on 17-19 November. The last conference will be held in Kaohsiung on 1-2 December. The global MASTERs Conferences, which originated in the United States in 1997, are an annual series of premiere technical training events for embedded-control engineers. The Conference has since expanded to locations in eight countries across the world. The Greater China MASTERs Conferences are valuable resources for designing with Microchip’s products that provide design engineers with an annual forum for sharing and exchanging technical information on the Company’s 8-, 16- and 32-bit PIC® microcontrollers, high-performance analog and interface solutions, dsPIC® digital signal controllers, wireless and mTouch® sensing solutions, memory products, and MPLAB® development systems—including the industry’s only singular IDE to support an entire 8-, 16- and 32-bit microcontroller portfolio.
Greater China MASTERs is an in-depth, bi-directional exchange of technical information between Microchip subject-matter experts and the Company’s technical partners, including customers, third parties, distributor FAEs and design partners.
There is a broad range of class offerings for 2014, to meet the growing needs of software and hardware design engineers and engineering managers. Across the four Greater China conferences, 51 classes will be conducted, over half of which are new this year. In addition to lecture-based classes, there are nine ‘hands-on’ classes that enable attendees to learn more about specific applications by using development tools and writing code in the classrooms. Classes are available for engineers with advanced experience or little knowledge in the concepts and basics of the technology being discussed.
Greater China MASTERs classes cover the gamut of electronic-engineering topics, including connectivity sessions on Ethernet, TCP/IP, USB and wireless (e.g., Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi®); Web/cloud services for embedded Internet of Things applications; the Arduino™ compatible chipKIT™ Platform; new Core Independent Peripherals for 8-bit MCUs; touch interface development; intelligent power supplies; motor control using 8-bit MCUs; effective solutions for complex analog signal chains; offline, non-isolated, isolated and linear LED lighting solutions; 3D tracking and gesture control; and an introduction to the MPLAB Harmony integrated software framework.
“Technical training courses specifically designed for embedded systems engineers are crucial to reducing development time,” said E.H. Chen, Microchip’s director of sales for Greater China. “It is critical that embedded engineers are trained in all aspects of the environments in which they work, and that they walk away with the valuable knowledge needed to solve today’s most challenging design issues. Our annual Greater China MASTERs Conferences are offered with these goals in mind.”
Additional activities include networking sessions between third-party partners and attendees to discuss relevant design topics, and meeting with third-party development tool experts. Moreover, different booths at the venue will give participants the opportunity to explore the exhibits and develop a better understanding of Microchip and third-party products in between training sessions. The conferences also offer attendees exclusive discounts on selected development tools, available for purchase on-site. Exclusively at the Taiwan MASTERs Conferences, all attendees can also join one Embedded Systems Seminar (ESS) for free.
