OKI Strengthens Sales of Strategic MFP Models for the Office Solutions Market

Establishes alliances with more than 30 industry-leading software vendors worldwide

Tokyo, Japan – WEBWIRE

OKI Data Corporation, an OKI Group company specializing in the printer business, today announced the company has established alliances with more than 30 independent software vendors (ISVs) around the world, with a special focus on A4LED multifunction printer (MFP) devices equipped with smart Extendable Platform (open-platform technology). These alliances dramatically strengthen OKI’s capacity to deliver solutions in the office solutions market. OKI is seeking to double sales of MFP devices from fiscal 2013 to fiscal 2015 as it continues to expand its worldwide network of alliances.

In its Printer Business Strategy announced March 2013, OKI Data sees the office solutions market as a major growth area. With the MFP market positioned as a key growth segment, OKI last year introduced the MC700 series of high-performance A4-size color LED MFPs and the MB700 series of A4 monochrome LED MFPs. Both series represent strategic MFP products targeting this segment. Leveraging the open-platform technology featured in these MFPs, OKI has moved ahead to establish business alliances with software vendors in country after country, with the goal of meeting various user needs, including demand for improved business productivity and lower costs.

These efforts have dramatically strengthened OKI’s capacity to deliver solutions in areas like Print Management, Document Management, and Document Capture. Customers are free to choose from OKI’s wide-ranging lineup of applications to meet their needs, which in turn broadens the range of use of MFPs, leading to boosted sales.

  • Of its various partners in the area of print management, OKI has formed alliances with Australian software developer PaperCut Software International Pty Ltd. for the Japanese and international markets and Portuguese systems developer Alidata-Soluções Informáticas, Lda and British systems developer Ringdale UK Ltd. for international markets. These ties have helped customers cut printing costs by helping to visualize printing environments and by streamlining print quantities and procedures.

  • In the area of Document Management, OKI has partnered with DocuWare Corporation, a major German software developer, to deliver document management solutions for overseas markets. Solutions tied to MFPs equipped with OKI’s smart Extendable Platform allow customers to digitize paper documents for automatic archiving, improving business workflows.

  • For Document Capture, OKI has formed alliances with leading companies in document recognition, including Drivve Inc. of Germany and ABBYY of Russia. These partnerships allow OKI to deliver solutions to customers in overseas markets that optimize business workflows.

In addition to sharp, high-resolution prints of detailed images, the capacity to reproduce a wide range of tones, and the remarkable reliability of OKI’s exclusive LED units, the MC700 series of A4 color LED MFPs and the MB700 series of A4-size monochrome LED MFPs feature large nine-inch color touch panels for ease of use. The products in these series deliver both performance and usability. Combined with smart Extendable Platform technology, these features make the devices ideal for developing and delivering solutions.

Future plans call for strengthening efforts to expand alliances and deepen relationships with ISVs, thereby delivering an expanded range of solutions for banking, logistics services, and other specific markets and industries in which each ISV specializes. These efforts and products combining attractive functions and high added value will reduce print costs and contribute to customer efficiency.
