Panel of Independent CIOs Recognize Duet Software as Leading Innovative Solution

WALLDORF, Germany - August 23, 2006 - SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced that IDG’s Computerworld, a premier source of IT industry news and analysis, has selected Duet™ software as a winner of its second-annual Computerworld Horizon Awards. The Computerworld Horizon Awards recognize the most cutting-edge technologies from research labs and private companies. Duet software was selected for this award by an independent panel of senior IT executives. Duet software, the first product jointly developed and supported by industry leaders SAP and Microsoft, was created to drive enhanced business efficiencies by uniting the worlds of information worker productivity applications and enterprise applications.

“The Horizon Awards recognize companies developing innovative, promising technologies that hold the potential to significantly affect enterprises in the near future,” said Don Tennant, editor in chief, Computerworld. “Our panel of senior IT executives evaluated more than 200 submissions from leading corporations, universities and research labs. SAP and Microsoft were chosen for their ability to help customers increase business performance by giving information workers greater visibility and use of SAP business data from familiar, easy-to-use Microsoft Office software. All of the award winners are demonstrating leadership in IT management and innovation in their industry sectors.”

Duet simplifies the way information workers across global businesses and government institutions access and leverage enterprise applications. Duet aligns their structured business processes with critical data, offering greater real-time insight for improved decision making. Built as a composite application, Duet uses the enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA) and Microsoft .NET to extend select processes and information from mySAP™ Business Suite applications into Microsoft Office, simplifying the way information workers access and leverage SAP applications while enriching the Microsoft Office experience.

“We are honored to be a recipient of the Computerworld Horizon Awards for our work with Microsoft in the development and delivery of Duet,” said Udo Waibel, senior vice president of Emerging Solutions, SAP. “This award recognizes our position as a market leader dedicated to co-innovating on groundbreaking solutions that help our customers accomplish their enterprise goals.”

“We’re pleased that Computerworld has recognized Duet as an innovative and historic initiative from Microsoft and SAP,” said Lewis Levin, corporate vice president of the Office Business Applications Group, Microsoft Corp. “Developed for our mutual enterprise customers, Duet helps bridge the gulf between information workers who use Microsoft Office every day and the SAP business data and systems they need to access to be more efficient at work.”

The Horizon Award winners are profiled in a special report in the August 21 issue of Computerworld. See SAP and Microsoft’s profile online at: http://computerworld.com/action/
