Eating Disorders Expert Dr. Patricia Pitts Speaks at The Latino Behavioral Health Institute Conference

A once bright and vibrant teenage Mid-West girl was holding in a painful secret from her loved ones – she had an eating disorder, anorexia. Back then, there were limited educated physicians and clinicians who could give young Patty the care she truly needed. Once she found the proper professionals who understood how to guide her to restore her bright and vibrant ways, she embraced her wellness journey. Using her personal journey and now a Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Patricia Pitts is recognized as one of the nation’s top eating disorder treatment and educational leaders.

In 1985, Patricia decided to ensure that those struggling with an eating disorder or disordered eating would have a comprehensive network of programs to seek treatment. She inventively founded the early beginnings of The Bella Vita in the greater Los Angles area. Since opening, thousands of adolescents and adults have a restorative haven to regain mind, body and spirit wellness.

Dr. Pitts is pleased to serve as a consecutive year presenter for the Latino Behavioral Health Institute Conference in September. The Latino Behavioral Health Institute Conference is hosting its, “Advancing Latino Behavioral Health; from Margin to Mainstream” Conference from September 17-19 at the L.A. Hotel Downtown/Hyatt Regency in Los Angeles, California. The conference will draw professionals from across the country to address the critical medical and behavioral health issues in service disparities and necessity of professional cultural competence impacting patient care for Latinos.
