DuPont Pioneer Yield Challenge Inspires Friendly Competition

Western Canadian canola, corn and soybean growers growing Pioneer® brand seed products are invited to join the 2014 Proving Ground™ Yield Challenge contest.

The contest - which carries a grand prize of one of 17 trips for two to Calgary to attend the Tim Horton’s Brier final weekend of curling - is now in its third year. To win, growers have to successfully grow the highest-yielding Pioneer brand crops. Growers are encouraged to be innovative with their crop management practices to achieve the highest yield.

“The yield challenge gives growers the opportunity to learn about maximizing yields, try new production techniques, share ideas, and most importantly - to have fun,” said Debbie Stiles, DuPont Pioneer marketing manager, Western Canada. “Growers have a unique opportunity to network and learn from one another.”

To participate in the 2014 contest, growers should contact their local sales representative. All crop yields must be verified by a Pioneer Hi-Bred sales representative and a weigh wagon by Oct. 31, 2014, for soybeans and canola, and by Nov. 14, 2014, for corn.

The Proving Ground™ is a large-scale product trial initiative unique to Pioneer. In 2012, Pioneer Hi-Bred sales reps and agronomists worked with growers to plant over 1,500 large-scale trials of canola, corn and soybeans across western Canada - more than any other seed company. These trials thoroughly test products, traits, seed treatments and agronomic practices. The results are used to help growers choose the right Pioneer® brand seed product for every acre they grow.
