Susquehanna Health and Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania will offer a free Kids in the Kitchen program Monday, August 18 at The LifeCenter, Lycoming Mall, Pennsdale.

Children ages 4 to 12, supervised by their parents or guardians, will have fun making and eating healthy snacks. Lisa Pietropola and Jen Davis, registered and licensed dietitians, will teach attendees how to select and quickly prepare healthy snacks, and Barbie Green, Pennsylvania Department of Health, will provide instruction on proper portion size and creating a healthy plate with food models and MyPlate.

“Kids in the Kitchen is one of our most popular summer outreach activities at Susquehanna Health’s LifeCenter,” said health educator and LifeCenter Coordinator Robin Dawson. “It is always wonderful to see the excitement of the children as they creatively build their snacks and literally eat the fruit of their labor.”

Three sessions of Kids in the Kitchen will be offered at 11 am, 12:30 pm or 2:30 pm. Seating for each session is limited to 16 children. Register early to reserve seating for one of the three session times by calling 1-877-883-4791.
