Three New Principals Named at Glenn M. Gelman & Associates, CPAs & Business Advisors

SANTA ANA, CA, July 9, 2014 – Glenn M. Gelman & Associates, one of Santa Ana’s largest locally-owned accounting firms, congratulates Lisa Green, CPA, Fariba Mehdian, CPA, MS-Accounting, CFF, CCIFP and Tanya Valle, CPA, MS-Tax on their promotion to a principal of the firm.

Lisa Green, CPA
Lisa has been a member of Glenn M. Gelman & Associates since 1995.  She has extensive experience serving closely held, rapidly growing companies primarily in the construction industry. Her breadth of experience includes managing audits, reviews, compilations, agreed-upon procedures and consulting for a variety of private companies.

Prior to joining Glenn M. Gelman & Associates, Lisa worked for a regional accounting firm where she was a senior audit manager directly responsible for auditing more than 50 separate employee benefit plans.
Lisa graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. She has memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Lisa enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Fariba Mehdian, CPA, MS-Accounting, CFF, CCIFP
Fariba joined Glenn M. Gelman & Associates in 2006 and has 18 years of public accounting experience serving clients in the construction industry.  Fariba’s experience and track record showcase her thorough and complete knowledge of the wide panorama of issues impacting the construction industry.  Her responsibilities have included virtually every aspect a finance professional in the construction industry would encounter: traditional accounting, tax, operational, and control issues; business planning, debt and other financing needs; bonding and insurance compliance; and other real estate issues. 

Prior to joining the firm, Fariba was the CFO of a prominent grading company in Atlanta, Georgia and served on its Board of Directors. She was also a Senior Manager at a midsize construction CPA firm.

Fariba is a licensed CPA in California and Georgia. She received a bachelor’s degree with concentrations in mathematics and statistics and earned a master’s degree in accountancy from Florida International University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Fariba is a member of the Board of Directors of the American General Contractors of California, Los Angeles Chapter and has been serving the association since January 2013.

Fariba is married and lives in Irvine with her husband and son. She enjoys traveling extensively and her itinerary has included much of the world.

Tanya Valle, CPA, MS-Tax
Tanya joined Glenn M. Gelman & Associates in 2002, beginning as a staff accountant, then progressed into management positions in the tax department and is now principal.  Tanya has a broad set of skills involving construction, real estate development, manufacturing, not-for-profit organizations, and tax planning for high net worth individuals. Tanya has focused her expertise in tax minimization strategies and tax planning for corporations (C and S), partnerships/LLCs and individuals. She also has years of experience working with companies that operate in multiple states.

Tanya received her master’s degree in taxation from Golden Gate University and completed her bachelor’s degree in accounting from California State University, Fullerton.  She has memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Tanya is fluent in Spanish and her interests include spending time with her family, photography and traveling.
