Applicants for the Fall Exam have until August 1st to submit their completed application to be eligible to take the exam this year.

Along with the completed application form, those applying are reminded to also have the following forms and documents successfully submitted by the August 1st deadline:

  • College or University Degree Transcripts
  • IH Related Courses Documentation
  • Work Experience Documentation
  • Professional References Questionnaires

“We encourage people interested in earning their CIH certification to apply soon to allow plenty of time to ensure that all necessary paperwork is received in time,” said Lynn O’Donnell, CIH, Executive Director for the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.  “The testing window for the Fall Exam for successful Applicants runs from October through November and it is the last time this year the exam is being offered.”

Each year, there are two periods available to take the CIH examination, the Fall Exam and the Spring Exam.  For those unable to fulfill all of the requirements to take the exam this year, February 1st is the deadline for Applicants to submit their completed applications for the Spring 2015 Exam which runs from April through May.

The application process and all of the requirements to become a CIH have been clearly defined by ABIH in a downloadable document.  The Candidate Handbook discusses everything from academic and experience requirements to the application process, fees and examination information.
