Preservica low-cost Digital Preservation pricing now available via G-Cloud 5
New Preservica Cloud Edition price plans enable UK government agencies to start preserving digital records and content for less than £3,000 a year
Preservica, part of the Tessella group, and a world leader in digital preservation technology, research and consulting, has announced that its low-cost Cloud Edition price plans are now also available to UK Government agencies via the G-Cloud 5 framework as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) in the CloudStore. This is the third successive iteration of G-Cloud to include Preservica: http://govstore.service.gov.uk/cloudstore/saas/cms/5-g2-0622-001
The announcement reflects the growing demand for a simple and cost-effective way of preserving government records, archives and other digital content for the long-term, and comes off the back of a recent report commissioned by the UK National Archives into Cloud Storage and Digital Preservation* that outlines a number of case studies of government organizations already using the cloud and Preservica’s technology for digital preservation – including the UK Parliament and the Dorset History Center, part of Dorset County Council.
Preservica Chief Executive Jon Tilbury adds, “We are delighted our award-winning Digital Preservation and Access platform has been selected by the UK Government Procurement Service and is available to purchase via G-Cloud 5. In particular, our low-cost Preservica Cloud Edition price plans make it easy and cost-effective for government agencies to start preserving digital records and content for the long term, safe in the knowledge they are using the same proven technology in use at the UK National Archives.”
Preservica Cloud Edition includes a comprehensive suite of OAIS (Open Archival Information Systems) compliant workflows for ingest, management, storage, access and preservation of digital content. The latest version 5 of Preservica also includes a new Universal Access function that enables organizations to safely share their archives, collections and records with the public as well as actively preserve for the long term – all from one system.
