McMurray Stern Partners with Midbrook Medical to Release Two Infectious Control Products

Santa Fe Springs – WEBWIRE

SANTA FE SPRINGS - MAY 29, 2014 - McMurray Stern, Southern California’s leader in innovative storage development and records management solutions, is partnering with Midbrook Medical to release two brand new products: The 60 Second Infectious Control and The Tempest Surgical Instrument Wash.  Both of these products will provide your medical facility with superior sterilization capabilities. They serve as an excellent complement to the sterile supply storage solutions we already offer to healthcare facilities.

Midbrook Medical is committed to finding solutions for medical centers to sterilize their equipment in the most efficient way possible.  By partnering with McMurray Stern, the two companies are able to reduce the incidence of communicable germs that sometimes linger on medical equipment and spread infections.

The Tempest Surgical Instrument Wash is a device that uses water and an enzymatic cleaner to thoroughly clean medical equipment of any debris that needs to be removed before proper sterilization can occur.  The device is capable of utilizing one, two, or four baskets designed to hold medical equipment during the washing cycle.  The washing cycle is completed in 30 minutes and can fully clean Laparoscopic tools, and narrow-lumen instruments.  In a study to test the effectiveness of removing blood, proteins, and other debris, the results for all of the tools cleaned surpassed the AAMI benchmarks.

The 60 Second Infectious Control has been designed to sterilize medical tools and equipment using a UV Flash.  The UV Flash can sterilize a wide variety of medical tools by using a 254 nm wavelength to break down the molecular bonds within microbial DNA.  This will produce a deadly thymine dimer that will completely destroy the germ.  This method has been known to kill E.coli, MRSA, H1N1, SARS, pseudomonas aeruginosa, and many other pathogenic microorganisms after just 60 seconds of exposure to the UV Flash.  In addition, there are over 300 different germs that are susceptible to this type of sterilization.

These two products fit particularly well with McMurray Stern’s sterile supply storage systems that are also available for medical facilities.  Not only can we offer superior sterilization, but we offer products that have proven to keep those tools sterile while in storage.  Both of these things add to the overall safety and health care that is provided at any facility that utilizes our products.
