Military personnel are still very much able to make claims for compensation should they suffer an illness or injury whilst serving with the Army, Royal Air Force or Royal Navy.

Recently the bodies of five UK service personnel who were killed in a helicopter crash in southern Afghanistan were brought home to their families.

An investigation into how and why the Lynx helicopter came down 30 miles from the Pakistan border is now under way.
The crash which claimed the lives of 5 soldiers took place in the Takhta Pul district of Kandahar, and has been described by the MoD as an apparent ‘tragic accident’ which happened during a ‘routine flight’.

This crash again highlights the dangers soldiers face every day around the world.

At the end of the day a soldier is still an employee and the Ministry of defence (MoD) is their employer, and as such it has an obligation to keep their employees safe whilst they are at work in the UK or on a tour of duty.

Military personnel are still very much able to make claims for compensation should they suffer an illness or injury whilst serving with the Army, Royal Air Force or Royal Navy.

At Freeclaim Solicitors, we do advise that if you wish to claim against the Ministry of Defence you do so quickly as most claims must be brought within three years of the injury or accident, so it’s imperative you act as soon as possible.

Some of the most common accident claims handled by the expert military compensation solicitors at Freeclaim include:

  • Aircraft and helicopter crashes
  • Negligent discharges
  • Malfunctioning military equipment and vehicles
  • Military accidents in operational theatres
  • Road accidents
  • Combat injuries and combat stress
  • Military training accidents
  • And many more

Claiming compensation from the armed forces isn’t just about getting compensation for the injury, it’s about safeguarding yourself and your loved ones against financial loss should you need longer term support due to your injuries, recovering lost salary due to being unable to work and ensuring the correct  treatment and rehabilitation is available to you.

It’s imperative that you seek the advice of a professional and experienced law firm that are able to assist you and guide you every step of the way through your Armed Forces compensation claim. Freeclaim Solicitors is that law firm.
