Cypress Expands Presence in China and Korea with Addition of Five New Distribution Partners

Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NASDAQ: CY) today announced it has signed agreements with five new distribution partners in Asia. The agreements with Dadoutek, Sekorm and Lierda in China and HB Corporation and STC Corporation in Korea are effective immediately, expanding the reach of Cypress’s sales force in the region. The distribution partners will sell the entire Cypress product line, including PSoC® Programmable System-on-Chip devices, touch-sensing solutions, SRAM and nonvolatile memories, USB controllers and more.

This combination enables engineers of all levels to quickly implement sleek and robust capacitive buttons, sliders and proximity sensors for applications in a broad range of markets, including consumer, automotive, home appliance, industrial, medical and fitness.

The PSoC 4000 family offers a low-cost, entry-level 32-bit ARM®-based system-on-chip for quick, simple upgrades of legacy 8-bit and 16-bit microcontrollers. The family delivers PSoC’s hallmark design flexibility, along with Cypress’s industry-leading capacitive sensing technology, to cost-sensitive and high-volume applications. PSoC 4000 devices have a truly scalable architecture that enables seamless migration to larger PSoC 4 families.
