It’s A Hole In One For Maggie’s Cancer Charity Thanks To Gamola Golf

As the result of a range of fundraising activities, Gamola Golf has worked hard to raise over 2.5k for UK based cancer charity, Maggie’s. Activities have included a ladies fashion show, clothing donations, competitions and most importantly (and relevantly), a ’72 Holes In One Day’ golf tournament!

The aim of the fundraising activities (which have been taking place over the past year) has been to provide financial assistance to Maggie’s – a cancer care charity which provides a range of support services to cancer sufferers across the UK, covering practical, emotional and social help during very difficult times. Founded in Edinburgh and with a newly established presence in Aberdeen, Gamola Golf felt that Maggie’s is a charity that is close to their hearts, with a staff member being able to recall a personal experience where Maggie’s has provided support to them and their family members.

The main purpose of the donation is to help to run the Maggie’s centre in Aberdeen for one day. Every year, 300k people are diagnosed with cancer in the UK, facing tough questions, exhausting treatment and difficult emotions. These challenges not only affect the patient; they also affect their family and loved ones too. Maggie’s is a charity which aims to support anyone and everyone affected by cancer, offering a programme of support on an individual basis.

Since Maggie’s has opened in the Royal Infirmary in Aberdeen, the charity has been an asset. As a result and to show the local community’s appreciation, Gamola Golf decided to get involved and show their support and will continue to do so in the future.
