Colorado’s own home builder, Century Communities has announced the partnership with HomeAid Colorado (www.homeaidcolorado.org) during the month of May for HomeAid’s annual Essentials Drive. The builder will have donation boxes to collect essential items like diapers, wipes and baby formula at over 20 new home neighborhood locations in the Denver-metro area, Northern Colorado and Colorado Springs from May 5th to June 1st and will be announcing other efforts to support this great cause during the month. HomeAid is a leading national non-profit provider of housing for today’s homeless. The organization builds and renovates multi-unit shelters for America’s homeless families and individuals, more than one million of whom are children, while they rebuild their lives. HomeAid Colorado typically builds 5-7 shelter projects per year for the local homeless population and donates the housing to charities such as the Boys Hope Girls Hope, Mercy House, Salvation Army, Volunteers of America, and others for them to operate. To be eligible to receive a HomeAid home, the charity must provide social services that enable residents to transform their lives and move towards self-sufficiency.
“Being a part of this effort is something I am personally very passionate about, and I’m proud that Century Communities has made the commitment to step up and help this year.” says Kathy Ellis, Century’s Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “Bringing hope to families is what we do every day, and this further highlights our dedication to the future of the greater-Denver community.” The donation opportunities are only the tip of the iceberg as the builder is poised to announce a dollar match program for the employees during the month as well as a larger donation to HomeAid based on the number of homes sold. Details will be announced with the kickoff of the program on Monday, May 5th.
