WEBWIRE

Sky and Sony Computer Entertainment UK have struck an agreement to make Sky Go and NOW TV available on PlayStation®4 (PS4™). Customers will be able to watch NOW TV on the PS4 from this summer with Sky Go becoming available later this year.

The deal means NOW TV customers will be able to connect their PS4 to their TV and home Wi-Fi to watch NOW TV content on their main TV as part of their subscriptions. Meanwhile Sky TV customers will be able to watch TV from Sky Go on a PlayStation®3 (PS3™) or PS4 for the first time.

Luke Bradley-Jones, Sky’s Brand Director of TV Products, commented: “More and more consumers are demanding easy access to a greater choice of high-quality entertainment over internet-connected devices. Sky is committed to helping customers access our great content, whenever and wherever they want. This deal is yet another example of that.  The agreement with Sony is great news for millions of Sky TV customers who can look forward to using Sky Go on their PlayStation 3 or PS4 for the first time.”

Gidon Katz, Director of NOW TV, commented: “We added support for PlayStation 3 last year and are pleased to be able to support PlayStation 4 this summer. NOW TV customers will have yet another way of streaming award-winning shows, movies and sports to their main TV screen"

Fergal Gara, Vice President and Managing Director for Sony Computer Entertainment UK said: “NOW TV has been a great addition to the PlayStation 3 entertainment portfolio, so bringing it to the new PS4 is going to delight all users of the newest, most powerful member of the PlayStation family. Sky Go joining both PlayStation platforms further enhances our credentials as the ultimate gaming and entertainment package.”

Sky Go and NOW TV are available across a broad range of internet-connected devices, including laptop, tablets and selected smartphones.

Sky Go lets customers watch both live and on demand content, in line with their Sky TV subscription at no extra cost for Sky TV customers. Sky Go includes all six Sky Sports channels, Eurosport, 11 Sky Movies channels, great entertainment from Sky Atlantic and third party channels such as FOX, plus hours of shows from Nickelodeon and others.

NOW TV is the contract-free internet streaming service from Sky that provides instant access to hundreds of films from Sky Movies on demand, pay-as-you-go access to live Sky Sports and must see shows on 10 of the best pay TV channels including Sky1, Sky Atlantic and Sky Living.
