Los Angeles, CA US – WEBWIRE

We devote our heart and soul to helping organizations and institutions improve their performance through a responsibility-based approach built on the African philosophy of Ubuntu (the essence of being human).

Following his arrival in Kampala, Uganda, for the Easter Holiday, Malawi-based Chiku Malunga, PhD, is in the country this week to play an integral role in a big deal negotiation for Plan International.  His expertise and advisory will be instrumental in the key signing of an important contract for the distinguished organization’s Plan Uganda – the country’s much anticipated Realignment process.

The foremost internationally recognized Dr. Malunga is a specialist in integrated strategic African perspectives for civil society, leadership and organizational development.  As for his part in this big deal contract negotiation for Plan International, the organization is further looking to spread its Realignment Plan from Uganda to other parts of Africa and beyond.  Dr. Malunga was enlisted to help guide them through this process for the month of May, commencing in Uganda.

The organization’s focus is to bring together Plan Uganda’s various change initiatives.  These efforts include grants, responsibilities mapping, workforce planning, and organizational restructuring, among other key changes.  Plan Uganda was designed as a Country Strategic Plan to guide a core focus for the next five years.  This includes a combination of factors, from key program design and favorable donor opportunities, to a conducive environment translated into unpredicted growth for the Plan – turning into one of the largest and diverse grants portfolios in the world.  It has also led to significant expansion into new regions in the country.  Over the last year and a half alone, Plan Uganda witnessed an abrupt growth in geographical scope.

Dr. Malunga comes to Kampala following his visit to Accra, Ghana, last week where he had conducted a Mentoring Seminar for the West African Civil Society Institute (WACSI).  At the request of the organization’s Executive Director, Nana Asanteewa Fadzinu, this high-level seminar further included guest participants from the world distinguished organization, Africa Lead

Dr. Malunga had previously conducted a similar seminar for Africa Lead.  His speaking appearance had evolved from their keen interest to learn from his expertise how to apply African Indigenous Wisdom to their leadership development work.

Imagine bringing African Indigenous wisdom to society and today’s business culture. Dr. Malunga does just that and quite successfully as his globally embraced fresh perspective continues to be in demand.

“African proverbs are used to illustrate ideas, reinforce arguments and deliver messages of inspiration, consolation, celebration and advice,” states Dr. Malunga.

Through his innovative application of African proverbs into society, Dr. Malunga presents the unmistakable empowerment received, between organizations and individuals alike, from this emerging wisdom.  A unique facilitator of this process, he illustrates how it can enhance modern life, in new and creative ways that touches people’s hearts and motivates them to personal and organizational transformation.

Dr.Malunga’s distinctive proficiency and world class innovation is further supported through his books, Understanding Organizational Sustainability through African Proverbs and Power and Influence:  Self-Development Lessons from African Proverbs and Folktales, among other books.  The collective information he offers between the two key titles places an emphasis on the African expression, UBUNTU (the essence of being human).

Dr. Malunga’s books are among the first to consciously acknowledge, demonstrate and contribute to the rationale of applying Indigenous wisdom – African proverbs and folktales expressing an accumulated wisdom – for the improvement of inter-human relations.

His steadfast work in bringing African Indigenous wisdom into organizational development has served as important lessons for leaders, consultants, volunteers and expatriates, the world over.  An appeal toward a much-needed, cross-cultural dialogue among individuals and organizations in today’s increasingly diversified world.

Stay tuned as Dr. Malunga readies Plan Uganda/Plan International in support of the widespread expansion of their Realignment program.
