CarePoint Health Supports Holi Hai Festival
CarePoint Health was proud to be a key sponsor for the sixth annual Holi Hai festival held in Jersey City on March 22, 2014. Holi Hai, known as the festival of colors, is a traditional celebration of Indian and Hindu culture that ushers out the winter season and welcomes the spring. Over 2,000 people attended the event at the Owen Grundy Pier at Exchange Place, including the Indian Ambassador to New York, several Assemblymen and community leaders. Organizers from the Surati for Performing Arts, a nonprofit entertainment company, dubbed the event a huge success. CarePoint Health’s sponsorship is indicative the organization’s ongoing commitment to the Indian population of Hudson County and the communities served by Bayonne Medical Center, Christ Hospital and Hoboken University Medical Center.
The Holi Hai festival included Indian dance and musical performances, art and crafts, traditional Indian food and beverages and special workshops and activities for children. The highlight of the event was the throwing of colors, where throngs of revelers tossed dry colored powder to symbolize the rebirth of the spring season. This year’s Holi Hai festival drew a record crowd to Jersey City and CarePoint Health was pleased to be an integral part of the celebration. Several CarePoint Health representatives attended the festivities and Rimli Roy, the Founder and Artistic Director of the Surati for Performing Arts, was impressed with the turnout.
