McMurray Stern’s Hospital Bed Lift Storage System has Received OSHPD Preapproval of Manufacturer’s Certification (OPM)

SANTA FE SPRINGS - MARCH 31, 2013 - McMurray Stern, Southern California’s leader in innovative storage development and records management solutions, has built a space saving, easy to use Hospital Bed Lift Storage System that has just received OSHPD (Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development) Preapproval of Manufacturer’s Certification (OPM).

The OSHPD OPM is a voluntary certification that allows for review and preapproval of seismic design for all of the supports and attachments in nonstructural components of equipment used in health facilities in California. This certification provides added measures of safety and peace of mind in facilities like hospitals where any extra steps taken to ensure the safety of patients and employees are critical, especially in crisis situations.  The system is compatible with almost every location and is designed to handle everyday use with very little maintenance required.  Another added benefit of the system is its “Push-of-a-Button Operation” function.  This allows the system to be operated by one person, reducing time spent away from patients.  Hospital beds no longer need to be stored in hallways or other areas that cause them to pose a potential hazard.  The lift is constructed with an LIFO picking design (last-in/first-out) keeping the beds stored in an orderly and compact manner. 

With this new certification, McMurray Stern is proud to offer local hospitals a safe and efficient way to store their extra or soiled beds with an edge of extra safety concerning earthquakes that can frequent the area.  Besides this, the space-saving aspect of the system leaves hospitals with invaluable extra storage areas for other equipment.
