Marriott International Honored for Excellent Work-life Programs

Company receives 2014 Seal of Distinction from WorldatWork’s Alliance for Work-Life Progress

Bethesda, Md. – WEBWIRE

WorldatWork’s Alliance for Work-Life Progress (AWLP) has recognized Marriott International (NASDAQ:MAR) with a 2014 Work-Life Seal of Distinction. The seal is a mark of excellence in work-life effectiveness. Sixty-seven organizations received the honor this year. Marriott is among 17 companies that have received the Seal of Distinction every year since its inception in 2012.

“We are honored to be recognized once again by the Alliance for Work-Life Progress for work-life excellence,” said David Rodriguez, global chief human resources officer. “Taking care of our associates is at the heart of Marriott’s core values, and this acknowledgement by AWLP reflects the achievements of the company’s work-life commitment.”

This year’s Work-Life Seal of Distinction honorees are an impressive group of employers that clearly understand the business value of investing in the people who do the work" said Kathie Lingle, WLCP, executive director, WorldatWork’s Alliance for Work-Life Progress.

The AWLP Seal of Distinction assesses the seven categories of work-life effectiveness that comprise a best-in-class work-life portfolio in today’s workplace:

  • Caring for dependents
  • Health and Wellness
  • Workplace flexibility
  • Paid and unpaid time off
  • Community involvement
  • Transforming organizational culture

This year’s winners represent a variety of industries including education, finance, government, health, law, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals, and hail from 20 states and the District of Columbia.
