London, UK – Bizagi, the global Business Process Management (BPM) platform author, announced today its selection by South African-based JSE listed construction, mining, development and engineering group Basil Read. The Bizagi BPM Suite, implemented alongside a brand-new ERP system, is part of a strategic initiative to drive down operating costs by reducing wastage while gaining process efficiency and overall organizational agility. The pilot project, which will allow the company to track fuel shipments and deliveries as well as volumes and stock of fuel at individual sites, will increase governance around its distribution model and is estimated to save the company 10% of wasted funds. Together with a second project, due for rollout shortly after, the company expect to see payback in just 35 weeks.Martin Attwell, Financial & Systems Manager for Basil Read, said:

“We needed an efficient way to capture and build process-based applications while also paving the way for continuous operational improvement. Additionally, strong analytics were essential in order that we could measure and track our efficiency gains and release improvements back into the business.”

Bizagi BPM Suite empowers business users by letting them easily define business processes without using code, meaning they can work closely with IT. Additionally, the intuitive and modern interface and ability to render perfectly on mobile makes the product appealing to business people.

“Often, the relationship between IT and the business can be awkward, particularly when the two parts have different goals and ways of working. Bizagi BPM Suite appealed to us as it’s definitely easy enough for business to use but ticks all the technical boxes,” Attwell continued.

Additionally, the solution allows 700 employees across 49 sites - 90% of which whom work in areas with poor internet connectivity - to benefit from Bizagi via a distributed server model which then updates the master version at the company’s Boksburg HQ.

"We were impressed with the way Bizagi overcame these significant technical barriers. Our staff are able to continue their work, even when the network infrastructure is poor. This delivers the goal of a ’single version of the truth’ rather than lots of disparate systems.

“With 160 further processes in the pipeline, Bizagi’s ability to bond IT and business will be crucial to the success of Basil Read’s BPM initiative. Concluding, Attwell comments:”We’re confident that Bizagi will fully support our strategic objectives as we identify and implement further efficiency gains over the next 24 months and beyond"
