IDT Timing, RF, and Memory Interface Solutions Selected as Finalists for 2014 EE Times and EDN ACE Awards

IDT’s Innovative Products and Software Support Platform Garner Recognition from Prestigious Electronics Industry Publications

SAN JOSE, Calif. – WEBWIRE

Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®) (NASDAQ: IDTI), the Analog and Digital Company™ delivering essential mixed-signal semiconductor solutions, announced that four IDT solutions have been selected as finalists for UBM Tech’s EE Times and EDN 2014 Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Award in the ‘Ultimate Products’ category. Finalists include IDT’s 8T49N28x Universal Frequency Translator (UFT) clocking family, 8V19N4xx RF-PLL, 4DB0124 DDR4 data buffer, and Timing Commander™ software.

“We are honored to be selected as a finalist for this prestigious award that highlights and exemplifies several of IDT’s competitive advantages,” said Greg Waters, president and CEO at IDT. “IDT’s UFT timing family, RF-PLL, DDR4 buffer, and Timing Commander software each offer industry-leading specifications and capabilities, giving our customers the tools necessary to develop sophisticated next-generation products. The ACE Award ‘finalist’ designation is a testament to IDT’s innovation and strategic commitment to advanced timing, RF, and memory interface markets.”

IDT’s 8T49N28x UFT family is the industry’s only single-chip programmable solutions capable of generating eight different output frequencies with less than 300 femtoseconds RMS phase jitter over the standard 12kHz to 20MHz integration range. The devices offer independently-programmable clocking outputs with the flexibility to apply virtually any input frequency and select virtually any output frequency. The low jitter and high level of integration eliminates the need for separate jitter attenuation, frequency translation, and redundancy management – empowering engineers to save board area and cost through consolidation. These devices are ideal for high-performance optical networks, wireless base stations and 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) interface applications.

The IDT 8V19N4xx is a flexible JESD204B-compliant radio frequency phase-locked loop (RF PLL), designed to meet both the high frequency and low phase noise requirements for 2G, 3G and 4G LTE wireless infrastructure applications. The PLL’s low phase noise characteristics enable a system’s digital-to-analog and analog-to-digital converters (DACs / ADCs) to function with high precision and very low distortion levels. This results in improved signal integrity on transmission and enhanced signal sensitivity on reception, increasing data throughput via lower bit error rates (BER). In addition, reduced noise in the RF signal path enables base-station engineers to decrease cost and complexity by relaxing the system’s filter requirements.

The IDT 4DB0124 DDR4 data buffer complements IDT’s 4RCD0124 DDR4 registered clock driver (RCD) to form the industry’s first complete chipset for DDR4 load reduced dual inline memory modules (LRDIMMs). Providing complete buffering of command, address, clock and data signals, IDT’s DDR4 data buffer can reduce up to 16 ranks of DRAM to a single load (as presented to the host controller channel). A distributed approach minimizes stub lengths and physical skew between data bits to drastically improve the bandwidth and speed performance of LRDIMMs in multi-slot systems.

IDT’s Timing Commander software platform enables system design engineers to configure, program, and monitor sophisticated timing devices with an intuitive and flexible graphical user interface (GUI). The innovative support tool empowers customers to expedite development cycles and optimize the configuration of IDT’s industry-leading clocking solutions.

The final winners will be announced at the EE Times and EDN ACE Award ceremony on April 1st, 2014.
