Liaison Technologies Launches Enhanced Cloud-Centric Tokenization Solution Reducing Risk and Burden of On-Premise PCI Solutions

New TaaS features lower CAPEX and OPEX by minimizing risk of on-premise storage of sensitive data

ATLANTA, GA – WEBWIRE

Liaison Technologies, a global provider of secure, cloud-based integration and data management services and solutions, announced enhancements to its Liaison Protect Tokenization as a ServiceTM (TaaS) solution. As a cloud-based offering, Liaison Protect TaaS takes web application servers out of Payment Card Industry (PCI) scope by diverting and sending all PCI data directly to the Liaison Cloud for tokenization, bypassing web servers. In addition to reducing business risk, Liaison Protect TaaS lowers CAPEX and OPEX costs of storing data on-premise, and is compatible with a variety of tokens including those needed for Protected Health Information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII) use cases.

At last count, global payment-card fraud losses reached $11.3 billion in 2012. Additionally, according to Gartner, 27 percent of security buyers are now considering tokenization as a cloud service. In response to this growing demand, Liaison Protect TaaS allows customer information like credit card numbers to be transmitted from a consumer directly to the Liaison Cloud, while all non-sensitive data continues to be transmitted to on-premise web servers. Liaison then returns the tokenized data back to the browser or directly to a pre-configured web server. This approach minimizes the risk of being compromised.

Changing regulatory security measures, like the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), contribute to the challenge facing data security managers. Given the company’s expertise as a data management provider, Liaison Protect TaaS expands beyond pure tokenization – lowering the cost of implementation, mitigating risk by offloading PII, reducing PCI DSS scope and minimizing the management of retaining referential integrity.

“Many companies are realizing that moving their tokenization solutions to the cloud is not just more cost effective, but it also reduces the risk and burden of hosting it on-premise,” said Rob Fox, VP of application development at Liaison. “Based on customer requests, we are enhancing our offerings to become more deeply involved in securing these types of environments. Liaison Protect TaaS caters to customers’ specific needs with the flexibility, scalability and enterprise grade strength required to seamlessly move their existing tokenization systems to the cloud.”
