San Mateo County Fair Takes Home 20 Western Fair Association’s Achievement Awards For 2013 Fair

The San Mateo County Fair has been awarded 20 Achievement Awards by the Western Fairs Association (WFA). These awards recognize excellence and their primary purpose is to facilitate, share, and promote new ideas and programs for all Fairs.

The San Mateo County Fair has been awarded 20 Achievement Awards by the Western Fairs Association (WFA). These awards recognize excellence and their primary purpose is to facilitate, share, and promote new ideas and programs for all Fairs. In addition, it provides the environment for the San Mateo County Fair to create the best Fair possible for the San Mateo County community.

The San Mateo County Fair took home four 1st Place, five 2nd Place and eleven 3rd Place awards. Selected from 500 entries from over 30 Fairs across the Western United States, the San Mateo County Fair staff was honored to receive such prestigious awards among their peers and to share their accomplishments with those who collaborated and celebrated the annual Fair.

Fair staff also had the opportunity to learn from other Fairs by visiting the Achievement Awards Center during their attendance of the WFA Convention.According to San Mateo County Event Center’s Senior Vice President and General Manager, Chris Carpenter, “We want to thank our entire team, the volunteers, staff, sponsors, exhibitors, vendors, and various companies who work with us to continue to improve our Fair each year.”

Below is a complete list of the awards won by the 2013 San Mateo County Fair: • 1st Place – Website – Fairtime, Interim Event Rentals Strategy or Concept, Maintenance, and Crisis Management.• 2nd Place – Radio Advertising, Outdoor Advertising, Exhibits – Competition, New Innovative Use of Technology, and Non-Profits.• 3rd Place – Printed Newsletter, Electronic Newsletter, Newspaper Ad – Black and White, Magazine Ad, Fairtime Innovative Marketing Strategy or Concept, Exhibits – Display Method or Prop, New Featured Event, Exhibit or Program, New Children’s Program, Interim Events, Inspiring Collaborations, and Anything Goes.This year’s Fair will run from June 7-15th with new activities, entertainment and concerts each day.
