Acer America Launches New Design Concept for Prestige Line LCD’s; New and Innovative Design Features and Lifelike Imagery Highlight Newest Monitor Offerings

SAN JOSE, CA -- March 17, 2005 -- Acer America Corporation, one of the leading worldwide suppliers of IT solutions, today introduced three new offerings to the Prestige line of LCD monitors. Initially shipping a 17“, 19” and a 20“ widescreen model, these newest high-performance LCDs target users with an appreciation for innovative design but don’t want to compromise connectivity or lifelike images. The 17” AL1732d, 19“ AL1932d and 20” AL2032wd LCDs feature a streamlined form with smooth curves and sheer elegance derived from crafted geometric lines and finely polished finish. The new design concepts of the Prestige line are the result of in-depth global market research and customer surveys and present an elegant and sophisticated outlook that enhances modern office decor and high-tech digital lifestyle environments.

The Acer AL2032wd LCD was recently awarded the prestigious “iF Design Award 2005” (International Forum Design) which is considered one of the world’s most prestigious design competitions. As one of the best-known design contests in the world, the iF design award has become a notable trademark for outstanding design and a symbol of a company’s commitment to innovation. The iF award jury, composed of top international designers, judged approximately 1,900 products from 740 participants from 31 countries this year on criteria that included design quality, workmanship, material choice, degree of innovation, environmental friendliness, functionality, ergonomics, safety, brand value, and branding.

Priced starting at $329, the newest members of Acer’s Prestige line deliver up to a 600:1 contrast ratio for photo-like image quality and three video inputs (VGA, AV and DVI-D) additional flexibility. The AL1732d, AL1932d and AL2032wd LCDs display a sharp and clear resolution of up to 1680 x 1050 (SXGA+) and a response time of as fast as 12 milliseconds for superior clarity of moving images. The Acer Prestige LCD’s feature premium contrast ratios for sharp colors, wide viewing angles for easier viewing, fast response times to run and view DVD’s and video games and brightness levels that result in brilliant images and rich colors.
