St. Mary’s Community Hospital Adopts Advanced Surface Disinfection Technology

St. Mary’s Community Hospital (SMCH) has invested in the health of the Nebraska City region by constantly upgrading its facilities and technology to the finest available.  The hospital is an 18-bed Critical Access hospital that also provides residents with acute inpatient services, medical/surgical services, 24-hour emergency care, obstetrics, complete radiology services, cardiac testing, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary services, more than 17 medical specialty clinics, plus many other services.
 
Recently, SMCH continued this investment in care by adopting cutting edge technology to clean rooms throughout the hospital.  The V-360+ UV Room Sanitizer from UltraViolet Devices, Inc. (UVDI) is now deployed at St. Mary’s Community Hospital to provide superior surface disinfection to help prevent the spread of germs on surfaces throughout the facility.
 
The V-360+ is a mobile ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) device that is utilized by the environmental services staff at SMCH to sanitize rooms after cleaning. It generates high intensity UV energy and quickly disinfects surfaces contaminated with viruses, bacteria and fungi, including superbugs such as MRSA and C. difficile. Environmental Services Manager, David Radke said, “It especially provides that added security during flu season.”
