EMS-Healthcare: Temporary Urgent Care Centre Set Up at Norfolk’s Biggest Hospital
EMS Healthcare will install three 13.6m medical trailers outside the A&E department of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for three months from the end of January.
The high-tech mobile medical unit will enable community health and care staff to provide minor treatment to patients who don’t need to be seen by a healthcare specialist.
EMS-Healthcare is helping Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust relieve pressure on accident and emergency departments over winter with a temporary Urgent Care Centre.
Three 13.6m medical trailers will be located outside the hospital’s A&E department for three months from the end of January.
A covered walkway will take patients from the hospital to the facility, which houses three consultation rooms, a dirty utility area, waiting area with children’s area, reception and toilets as well as a private office for staff.
The high-tech mobile medical unit has disabled access and is fully compliant with NHS stringent standards. It will enable community health and care staff to provide minor treatment to patients who don’t need to be seen by a healthcare specialist.
Keith Austin, CEO at EMS-Healthcare said: “The busy winter months always put more pressure on hospital wards. Our healthcare units can be set up swiftly and with minimal impact to provide an effective solution for trusts looking to increase their capacity to treat patients temporarily.
“There was no need for any on the site preparation and we were able to install all three trailers over a weekend.”
