TestAmerica Laboratory Network Currently Supporting West Virginia Clean-Up Efforts; Ready to Support Other Outlying Regions Impacted by MCHM Chemical Spill
TestAmerica, the leader in environmental testing, is currently supporting the Elk River, West Virginia chemical spill and prepared to support other regions affected by this incident. Upon hearing of the chemical spill impacting nine West Virginia counties, TestAmerica immediately deployed their Incident Response Team to the region to assess the situation. TestAmerica’s network of laboratories has the capability to analyze the hazardous chemical, 4-methylcyclohexane methanol (MCHM) using SW 846 Method 8270 (GC/MS), which provides definitive results with low detection limits and avoids false positive results.
James E. Hyman, CEO of TestAmerica states, “Our Incident Response Team has partnered with clients on-site and is working 24/7 with our network of laboratories to quickly provide analytical data that is easily interpreted to support clean-up efforts in the area. We recognize the potential impact of MCHM for other outlying regions and are prepared to provide the necessary environmental testing support.”
