Passionate about research? Apply now for a Vacation Scholarship
You have until February 2014 to apply for a Wellcome Trust Biomedical Vacation Scholarship, which provides promising undergraduates with hands-on research experience during the summer vacation with the aim of encouraging them to consider a career in research.
Undergraduates studying a range of scientific disciplines (including maths, physics and chemistry) have the opportunity to apply to undertake research across the Trustís scientific remit from molecular, cellular and structural biology, as well as clinical, physiological, psychological, epidemiological and public health research.
Students are encouraged to arrange their scholarship away from their usual place of study to gain new experiences and develop their independence, but projects must be undertaken at a university in the UK or the Republic of Ireland.
Applicants should be registered for a basic science, medical, dentistry or veterinary degree at a university within the UK or the Republic of Ireland and be in the middle years of their BSc (i.e. not the first or last year). Preference will be given to undergraduates without previous research experience.
Applications must be submitted on behalf of the student by the project supervisor and by 14 February 2014. More information can be found on the Vacation Scholarships page.
