The hope for Dewey the Dewdrop is that the story reminds us that we are lovable, special and valuable. “I want to remind everyone of the ‘big picture’ and of the intimate connection we all share."
Los Angeles, Calif. - At the young age of 18, author B. L. Guirguis was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The diagnosis led him to ask deep questions about the nature of life and death. These considerations plus his background of over 15 years in social work, working with children with disabilities, inspired Guirguis to write a book for children about death and dying.
The story Dewey the Dewdrop features the story of Dewey, a little dewdrop who finds himself in a scary and unfamiliar world. However, after several life-changing events, Dewey is able to let go of his fears and confront the deeper truth about himself, and his true purpose. The result is a children’s book with the resounding message of how we are all connected, and how we remain with each other always.
“My book is intended to support those who have lost a loved one, or find themselves feeling lonely, afraid, or not good enough,” the author states. The hope for Dewey the Dewdrop is that the story reminds us of how lovable, special and valuable we are. “I want the story to be a reminder of the ‘big picture,’ and about the intimate connection we all share,” he added.
Unlike other children’s spirituality books that emphasize the connection we all share, Dewey the Dewdrop is unique with its use of analogy and illustrations and puts forth this message in a way children can relate to and understand.
Dewey the Dewdrop is now available from Amazon.com in both print and Kindle editions. The book will be available from December 9th to December 10th for free in a digital format for Kindle readers and users of the Kindle app. For more information, and to download the title, please visit http://amzn.com/B00GTX825W
