The guidelines, from the Event Hire Association (EHA), are not intended to substitute other industry codes or documentation from the HSE or other authorities. Instead, they are designed to focus purely on the hire industry; and businesses that hire LPG in cylinders, or LPG powered appliances, for events.

They outline the requirements of the LPG and associated appliances in order to minimise the risk of harm to the hirer or the general public. As such it has never been safer to hire appliances for parties and events. The news is welcome in an area that has been fraught with confusion.

“What is safe for commercially installed appliances is over and above what is necessary and sometimes practical for the transportable appliances and equipment market.”
