Santa Mugged En Route To Toy Factory

LONDON – WEBWIRE

"I always have my iPhone with me, so of course I knew exactly what to do when this little villain sleigh-jacked me on the way to a vital Christmas route-planning meeting." - Santa

Sources close to the Present Fulfillment Centre in Lapland today disclosed shocking details of an attempt to disrupt Christmas. Happily, Santa Claus is reported to be unhurt in the attack.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Christmas said that whilst such things are commonplace in less salubrious parts such as Narnia and Wonderland, he was shocked to hear of such a thing in Lapland.

In a statement, Santa Clause confirmed that he had recently upgraded to iPhone 5 and for the past few weeks has been testing out a prototype personal protection device from London-based Halo. The device attaches to phone, providing personal safety and anti-theft protection.

Santa commented, “I always have my iPhone with me, so of course I knew exactly what to do when this little villain sleigh-jacked me on the way to a vital route-planning meeting. You should have seen his face when I activated the alarm. Halo-ho-ho-ho!”

Video footage captured when the Halo alarm was activated, at the same time as sending out Santa’s GPS location and emitting an ear-piercing alarm, is now being reviewed by the Lapland Police Department. The suspect is described at 2 feet 3 inches tall, pointed ears and a green cap. Detectives are keen to interview a delinquent elf who was recently terminated by the toy factory.
