From now on: the latest flight information directly by SMS
Service, Product, Awards
• SMS or e-mail if a flight is delayed or cancelled
• yourUpdate: free service, no need to register
Sometimes even Austrian Airlines flights can fall victim to winter conditions. Fog, ice or snow can lead to irregularities in flight operations. So from now on, Austrian Airlines is offering its passengers an extra service free of charge: yourUpdate.
In the event of delays of 30 minutes or more, or if a flight has to be cancelled, customers will automatically be sent an SMS or e-mail informing them of the current flight status and contact details for rebooking, without the need to register. To ensure passengers can be reached quickly, they need only give a personal mobile phone number or e-mail address at the time of booking their flight. All members of the Miles and More frequent flyer programme already registered online will automatically receive the SMS or e-mail from today onwards.
At Vienna Airport Schwechat, yourUpdate will also notify passengers automatically if their gate is to be changed.
No matter what airport around the world passengers are departing from on an Austrian Airlines flight, the domestic carrier will notify them in advance if they will need to adjust their travel plans.
Austrian Airlines is Austria’s largest carrier and operates a global route network of round 130 destinations. That route network is particularly dense in Central and Eastern Europe with 41 destinations. Thanks to its favourable geographical location at the heart of Europe, the company’s hub at Vienna International Airport is the ideal gateway between East and West. Austrian Airlines is part of the Lufthansa Group, Europe’s largest airline group, and a member of the Star Alliance, the first global alliance of international airlines. The flight operations of the Austrian Airlines Group has been bundled at its 100% subsidiary Tyrolean Airways since 1st July, 2012.
