Paul Walker’s Death Inspires Charity from Author
Paul Walker’s tragic death and philanthropic endeavors inspires author P. K. Vandcast to donate half of all his earnings from his newest title to Paul Walker’s charity, Reach Out Worldwide, for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
"As a rodeo clown, my pappy was all about giving," Vandcast continues. "I reckon I get it from him."
It has been over a month since Super Typhoon Haiyan rolled through the Philippines in early November this year. As of Tuesday, December 3rd, the “official death toll stands at 5,680, with 1,779 other people listed as missing,” according to the latest news from GMA in the Philippines. Haiyan claimed yet another victim on November 30, 2013, when actor/director Paul Walker died in an automobile accident during a charity benefit to raise support for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.
To honor the memory of Paul Walker, as well as aid the victims in the Philippines, author P. K. Vandcast is donating half of all his earnings from Twistical Tales: A Wild West Horror Story, to Walker’s charity organization, Reach Out Worldwide.
“I’m too old to go back to the Philippines and try to help out,” says Vandcast. “I’d just get in the way. But in this way, perhaps I can help just a little, and involve some of my fans, friends and family as well.”
Author P. K. Vandcast already had in mind to do something for the victims of the Typhoon as soon as he completed work on his latest fiction in the western-horror genre, Twistical Tales, when tragic news broke again via the announcement of Paul Walker’s death. Paul Walker was one of the primary actors who inspired Vandcast’s character, Jonas Cane, in the series, Jonas Cane, U.S. Marshal.

Vandcast admits that he’s not a well-known author, but he believes his positive attitude may inspire others. He adds, “I realize that sales from my books may not amount to very much, but if what I’m doing inspires others to give, together we might really accomplish something.”
