• Guaranteed choice of window or aisle seat available to all passengers at time of booking for first time
• Free of charge for HON Circle members, Senators, Business Class and Eco-Standard customers
• For all flights from 15 January 2014

In the past, passengers holding a Business Class ticket or normally-priced standard Economy Class ticket have had the option to request a ‘preferred seat’ on their flight. From 26 November 2013 onwards, this preferred seat will be guaranteed as a window or aisle seat for the first time, free of charge.
In the lowest booking classes, seat reservation will be offered from the time of booking, up to one year before the flight itself, for the first time.

For HON Circle members and Senators, this improved service is always free of charge, irrespective of booking class. Karsten Benz said the following: “Customers should be allowed to decide. In future, we shall be offering our customers more opportunities for designing a journey according to their personal preferences. We are listening to our customers, and constantly extending our product range as a result.”
Passengers without advance seat reservation will still be able to choose their seat free of charge as before – although depending on the availability of unreserved seats – within the bounds of checking-in 36 hours or less before departure.

‘red|ticket’ is the term used to describe the cheapest booking class with Austrian. It indicates the best price offer available for the respective ticket. In future, Austria’s largest domestic airline also wants to strengthen the booking of additional services in this product category. Customers can already choose between a lounge visit, the exclusive DO & CO à la carte menu and a red|cab, the cheap taxi to the airport.

Bookable from 26 November 2013 by calling +43 5 1766 1000 and at your travel agency.
