Thanks to Mobile Cloud, Mobistar customers will not lose the data of their mobile devices anymore

Brussels – By launching Mobile Cloud, Mobistar is the first operator in Belgium to offer its customers, without hidden charges, a secure storage space for the memory of their mobile device (pictures, videos, music, contacts, …). Included in the Dolphin, Panther and Internet Everywhere subscriptions, this new service enables very simple storage of all their files in a safe place, with the ability to access them at any time, from anywhere, on their smartphone, their tablet or via a web portal.

Pictures, videos, music, contacts, documents… Smartphones and tablets contain a wealth of digital treasures that users don’t want to lose. To them, losing personal content often seems worse than their device being stolen or lost. To be sure that these files are somewhere safe, most people store them on external hard disks, USB sticks, or even on DVDs and CDs. According to figures from GfK Significant, only 12 % of users already make use of “cloud” type solutions, mainly in order to share large files. However, more than 50 % of consumers say they are interested in protecting their data in the “cloud” because it is a much simpler and more secure solution that requires neither cables nor computer.

It is precisely to meet this need, for hundreds of thousands of customers, that Mobistar is today the first operator in Belgium to include a Mobile Cloud service in its Dolphin, Panther and Internet Everywhere (15 & Unlimited) subscriptions. Very easy to use, this new service means the memory of users’ smartphone or tablet can be saved automatically and with complete security, the data being stored in encrypted form on a server located in Europe. It should be noted that all digital content that is deleted will never be found again by other people (right to oblivion). The Mobistar customer is the only person to access his digital content. He can very easily share this digital content with friends and, of course, access it at any time, from anywhere, on any mobile device (via the Mobile Cloud application) or any computer (via the site

To use this service, all they have to do is go to Google Play or to the App Store and download the free Mobile Cloud app. Then they have to create their Mobile Cloud account and select what they want to save: photos, contacts, videos, music, files… It is also possible to activate the automatic mode, which means that the user doesn’t have to remember to save their device’s memory, thus guaranteeing complete peace of mind.

Dolphin subscribers get 500 MB of Mobile Cloud storage space included, enabling them to discover the service by protecting, for example, their favourite photos and all their contacts. Panther subscribers get 16 GB of space included, meaning they can automatically protect their smartphone’s memory. For those who want to enjoy even more storage space, it is also possible to buy, with no contract, 16 GB blocks of additional space for only 2 euros per month.

Note that the Mobile Cloud service can be accessed in Wi-Fi, and also for free via the mobile network. Even on mobile Internet, accessing and sending content to Mobile Cloud is free in Belgium and is not deducted from the customer’s monthly mobile data volume.
