DURHAM, NC -- March 16, 2005 -- SourceKit, the Durham based developer of web-based software, has acquired pnFlashGames, a distributor of Flash games and the software components needed for storing its players high scores.

“The pnFlashGames module offers website owners a dynamic, one-of-a-kind method of allowing their users to interact. At the same time, pnFlashGames offers Flash developers all over the world a way to distribute their games to webmasters and make money from their efforts. SourceKit is thrilled to be able to assist in helping build the bonds between these two communities,” said Drew Adams, managing member of SourceKit, LLC.

pnFlashGames is currently a distributor of Flash games and the software components for storing its players high scores. The pnFlashGames module can be “plugged-in” to many different open source portal products including PostNuke, Mambo, Xoops, and PHP Nuke. There have been over 20,000 downloads of the module for the various platforms since pnFlashGames was released in 2003. The acquisition of pnFlashGames by SourceKit shows a vote of confidence in the long-term viability of PostNuke (pn) and other open source portal software.

pnFlashGames.com, the website where website owners can download the pnFlashGames module and try out new games, averages over 150,000 unique visitors each month with over 4,000 website owners registered. When webmasters download the pnFlashGames module and install it inside their portal system, it allows them to host Flash games and keep the scores of their users, in turn creating Internet communities and increasing hits to those websites.

pnFlashGames also serves as a clearinghouse for games that are compatible with the pnFlashGames module. pnFlashGames.com currently has over 225 commercial and free games for download.

The pnFlashGames software was conceived and written by Lee Eason who is now a SourceKit employee. “It’s exciting to be with a company who believes in the product that I created. I’ve known that the potential of pnFlashGames was huge, and now SourceKit has the ability and influence to give pnFlashGames the attention it deserves.”

SourceKit engineers and administers custom Web-software for businesses and organizations. They also design and maintain subscription products such as the popular SourceKit Email Manager, which gives organizations the technology to reach their target audiences, employees, and clients effectively using email.
