Technicolor gets EuroDOCSIS 3.0 Certification for one of the first Cable Gateways on the market capable of providing up to 800 Mbps

This certification of the MediaAccess TC7210, which includes state-of-the art Wifi technology, demonstrates Technicolor’s leading position in DOCSIS 3.0

Paris – Technicolor (Euronext Paris: TCH) announces a key technology achievement in the EuroDOCSIS 3.0 gateway technology space. Its advanced Cable Service Gateway[1] has been EuroDOCSIS 3.0 and EuroPacketCable1.5 certified by Cable Europe Labs. This certification program provides the industry with a unique instrument to improve the interoperability of products for cable systems and to verify the compliance of new products with the necessary European cable technology specifications.

Featuring the next-gen 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard for the 5GHz band and a 3x3 antenna configuration, Technicolor’s Cable Service Gateway1 enables high throughput - download speed of up to 800 Mbps over the Coax Cable - and high coverage over the much less crowded 5GHz radio frequency, allowing for the launch of more enhanced and innovative services within the home, such as 500 Mbps commercial offer or a seamless video over IP experience on any mobile device.

Simultaneously, this Gateway guarantees seamless transmission of data services over 802.11n using the 2.4 GHz band and benefits from value-added features such as a 1 GHz tuner solution offering full band capture, a spectrum analyzer for remote diagnostics to reduce operating costs, DLNA compliant DMS and Wi-Fi HotSpot.

Technicolor also offers additional software features further improving Wifi performance and seamless communication with connected devices, like the Wifi Doctor application, and the Qeo communication framework.
