Runnable, the “YouTube of Code,” Secures $2 Million in Seed Funding to Make Code Discovery, Testing and Implementation Simple

PALO ALTO, Calif. – October 30, 2013 -- Runnable, the world’s first centralized location for finding code, today announces the close of a seed round with committed capital of $2 million to continue to build out its library of code, grow its staff, and begin onboarding its waiting list of over 150 partners who plan to contribute original content to the site.
 
The seed round was led by Sierra Ventures, with additional investments from Resolute.VC, Angel Pad and 500 Startups. Also participating were industry heavyweights Hiten Shah, founder of KISSmetrics and LinkedIn advisor, and Issac Roth, founder of Makara (acquired by RedHat) and StrongLoop.

Runnable launched its public beta in early October, with the goal of centralizing reusable code from around the world in one place where developers could easily search for and implement code into their own projects. The site has grown quickly since launch, and in less than four weeks now has over 150 companies waiting to partner with the company and post their own code on Runnable. Partners of Runnable can contribute APIs, libraries and SDKs they have developed, making it easy for developers to easily discover, run and edit the code to easily fit into any project.
