Cargo and Executive Jet Services to Join Airline at Middle East Aerospace Event

DOHA, Qatar – Qatar Airways, the national carrier for Qatar, today announced its plans for exhibiting at the upcoming Dubai Airshow 2013, taking place at the Dubai World Central in the United Arab Emirates, 17-21 November 2013.

The airline will once again feature a Boeing 787 Dreamliner with custom interior featuring 254 seats; 22 in Business Class in a 1– 2– 1 configuration and a 232 seating capacity in Economy with a 3–3–3 layout.

Also once again, Qatar Executive will showcase one of its Bombardier Global 5000 featuring a spacious two cabin configuration with a separate galley, allowing passengers to enjoy discrete service and maximum confidentiality. The powerful yet versatile aircraft is known to have the widest and most spacious cabin among super-large business jets while Qatar Executive business and private customers travel in the luxury of corporate aviation’s most comfortable and ‘business connected’ cabin.

Making its debut at the Dubai Airshow, Qatar Airways Cargo will showcase the Airbus A330F, one of a fleet of eight which serves more than 40 exclusive freighter destinations worldwide via its Doha hub.

“The Dubai Airshow is not only one of the most important aerospace events in the Middle East but in the world,” said Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker. “This is evident in the exponential growth of the airshow in recent years and the influx of international businesses in the region over the last decade.”

The 2013 show expects 1,000 exhibitors from around the world along with 60,000 trade visitors and up to 1,500 international and regional media. This year’s new home for the Dubai Airshow, the Dubai World Central features a purpose-built site for the Airshow, improved parking and catering facilities as well as a larger static park.

Qatar Airways has seen rapid growth in just 16 years of operations, currently flying a modern fleet of 129 aircraft to 132 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and The Americas.

In 2013, Qatar Airways has launched seven destinations to date – Gassim (Saudi Arabia), Najaf (Iraq), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Chicago (USA), Salalah (Oman), Basra (Iraq), Sulaymaniyah (Iraq), Chengdu (China), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), and most recently Ta’if (Saudi Arabia).

Over the next few weeks and months, the network will grow further with Clark Manila International Airport, Philippines (October 27), Philadelphia, USA (April 2, 2014) and Miami, USA (June 10, 2014).
