Airbus A320 flies the 80th anniversary livery

WEBWIRE

Air France is today taking delivery of an Airbus A320 painted in the special 80th anniversary livery. In partnership with Airbus, and like an Airbus A380 that has already joined the fleet, this new aircraft will fly on a daily basis and retain the anniversary livery for 12 months.

A more environmentally-friendly aircraft

This latest Airbus A320 is equipped with sharklets* and is fitted with a lighter, more comfortable new-generation seat.
In all cabins, it provides increased leg-room (close to 4cm more). The armrests can be raised completely and recess into the reclining seat-back, making it easier to access the seat and ensuring a better quality of rest. The headrests are built-in, and coat hooks can be used regardless of tray position. In the Business Class cabin, the central seat is left free to safeguard individual space and privacy.

The new seat offers twin benefits: it enhances passenger comfort and reduces the aircraft’s environmental impact. This is because the seat is 20% lighter than previous seat models, which, combined with the savings due to the sharklets, means that this aircraft consumes around 147 metric tons of fuel less each year, for an annual reduction in CO2 emissions of 460 metric tons.
